IS OLAPARIB 300 MG. DAILY EFFECTIVE?

ANYONE ON 300MG. OLAPARIB DAILY?

WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS BEEN TAKING 150 MG. OLAPARIB TWICE A DAY AND IF IT IS EFFECTIVE AT THE REDUCED DOSE?

I don’t have experience of olaparib but I do remember my oncologist telling me about Avastin that because it was so new when I took it, they didn’t really know what the optimum dose or length of treatment was.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was also the case for olaparib.

You could try asking if there is any evidence about doseage out there but you may not find it.

As far as I am aware the optimum dosage is 600mg per day (at least that is what I am on and have been told by my trials team) . It may be worth asking on the 'Parp Inhibitors' page on Facebook. Kathy xx

Thanks for this post Kathy. Started on 600mg per day at the start of May but my haemoglobin just crashed from 108 to 78 so after blood transfusion today am likely to be on a reduced dose. I'm not NED & CA125 has dropped since start of olaparib so was stressed because I need it to work & it seems it probably was. However, dosage on Facebook group is varied & lower dose seems effective for some so feeling a bit better.
