Niraparib update

So today I’ve been to see Onc for 3 month check on tablets. After a blip last month with bloods, and a week break, this month bloods are stable and ok and CA125 is still at 15!! He’s so pleased he doesn’t want to scan me as usual at 3 months he said he will wait for the 6 month mark. Now to look forward to Lanzarote on Sunday ☀️☀️

That’s fab news! Long may it continue. Have your side effects on Niraparib settled down?

Wow! This is great news! And what a feeling to have a 6 month break from appointments, which says your onc must be really confident that you are doing so well and they’re not concerned in any way at all 🤗 so well done to you and enjoy Lanzarote, lucky you escaping this crappy weather, I’m feeling quite jealous!!

Big Hugs

That is marvellous! Every stable report from those on Niraparib is a great encouragement for those of us about to start.

I am so hoping it will work for all of us and keep cancer away forever.

Hugs,

Laura

SamJane-my dentist said to carry gum around and if the dry mouth gets too bad, pop a piece! It helps (so does Biotene if you have that where you are). So glad to hear the news and may it continue for a very very long time! oxoxox

That’s fantastic news, very pleased it’s working for you. Have a great holiday. Would you mind telling me if you’re BRCA positive and what dose of Niraparib you’re on? Jo xx

Thank you, I’m BRCA negative and on 200mg. Had a month on 200mg but had to have a weeks break cause of low bloods. But bloods are ok at min xx

Yay!!!! 👏 I’m delighted for you!! Have a super time! 😊

Hi Samjane

That’s great news for you, 👍 I have been on Niraparib for 10 weeks now, no side effects now, dry mouth sometimes, but was told not to chew gum as it makes too much gas!!! Not good for the bowels!!! Had a scary blockage in July last year , never want to go through that again. I’ve to get a scan next Monday then see my Oncologist the following Monday. Fingers crossed 👍👍 meant to say I use a dry mouth spray made by Biotene , my daughters got me it for my first chemo. I also have the toothpaste and mouthwash, it’s quite pleasant. Long may you continue your good results, it’s so great to hear someone is doing well. Take care, best wishes Margot🙋
