I have had a ct scan and my cancer is stable but no change from June scan and doesn’t appear to be responding to carb/taxol . I’m devastated !!! What next ?
I’m 46 and not ready to die !!!
Anyone else had this ? What options do I have , I’m braca negative .
Where can I research ? What sites are good for advice on other chemo’s or trials . Please help x
There's been no growth, so that is something.
I was in the same situation with carbo/gem, and now I'm on Caelyx. I'll have my scan in early October so we can see if it's stopping progression. (Clear cell in liver.)
When do you see your oncologist?
I found this news hard to take in April, stable is stable 🙏 It’s not the best, but it’s not progression. Does your onc want you to stop or continue?

Don't panic. I'm on my sixth chemo drug and some have not worked or stopped working and I'm waiting to see if this latest one is working (Hycamtin). There are lots of drugs out there, my oncologist says, and he's determined to find the right one for me. Stable is good. NED is much better of course but please don't give up just because you are stable. Cherish the news and stay positive. xxxx
I had carbo only finished in Oct 2017. My tumours remain unchanged which is good. Chemo isn’t a cure it works differently on us all. Some tumours remain dormant, some shrink to a microscopic or undetectable size some do not respond. Stable is a good compromise. I don’t think any of us are ready to die but stress doesn’t help

For research Biomedcentral is a good place to start. The abstracts and conclusions are pretty much in layman's language. Be sure to find the absolutely newest information.
Here's a study regarding "prediction of clinical response" for OC: ovarianresearch.biomedcentr... It is not necessary for you to understand every detail of these studies, but to get the general thesis. I would print any of these out and have your doctor go over it with you. You'd be shocked to know how few doctors actually have time to read the latest research regarding OC treatment. Good luck dear, we all understand how you feel. Warmest gentle hug to you.

Hi, Chine up my love as the other ladies have said there are other treatments ,we all react differently to treatments your team just needs to find the right one for you.
I've been on here for 4 years now and have learnt so much about chemo and trials.
Just ask the ladies and you could call Anna on Overcome support.
Be pro active with your treatment and ask your oncologist about any treatment you hear about.
I always go to see my oncologist with a list of advice I've got from our lovely ladies in this community.

You are saying that chemo does not seem to be working but I am not sure that is the case if there has been no change ie the cancer has not grown as possibly the drugs are keeping your tumours in a holding pattern called "stable". I have found it a long process to do a lot of reading to try and educate myself about the disease that I have. I know that just basic information in biology has helped me. Unfortunately the organizations in my city are focussed primarily on psycho-social support rather than the more hard core scientific assistance I think we need to have. This is especially the case in regard to being able to at least have some understanding of clinical trials never mind being able to know which trial to ask for. There seems to be a real resistance to this kind of educational component. Perhaps it is related to resources but that would not explain the over-abundance of psycho-social assistance. It is the imbalance between them that is annoying and that I can't figure out. As far as looking for clinical trials I would direct you to to this site:
