Hi Jasel, Ive had two. Stage 3 OC, first recurrence after 4.5 years then about 18 months later my second, then this time Ive been 5 years so far NED. What you need to consider in your question is that some ladies like me will have also been on trial drugs alongside chemo. Kathy xx

Hi Jasel23

I am having a very sloooow recurrence after 2.5 years. Started in January but still well and not yet on treatment. I also asked the question after a friend told me hers came back every 10 months. I think that now we have drugs like Avastin and Parp inhibitors we are in process of redefining the process of recurrence. That doesn’t help much does it??! Lyndy xx

I recurred two years after my first diagnosis. My ovarian cancer was stage 4 due to spreading to the colon and subsequently to the liver.

There's a fine line between waiting for the recurrence "shoe" to drop (so to speak), and living your life with the "possibility" it will drop. If there's one thing I'd like to say, it's don't borrow trouble. Be aware, but don't think recurrence will automatically come. Hugs.

I was diagnosed stage 3C clear cell and had a successful operation in December 2016. My first scan after chemo showed recurrence in abdomen and liver so it was growing back all through chemo. I am now on a clinical trial which had kept me stable for 6 months so far.

Hopefully the chemo is working but you should push for a scan as soon as possible as my onc waited much too long. The trial I am on is called Patriot and is a phase one trial for the drug AZD 6723 which is for solid tumours.

Hi Jasel

Stage 3c high grade serous PPC in 2011. Inoperable so chemo only Carboplatin/Taxol for 6 months .

First recurrence in peri aortic lymph nodes 2016 . Treated with Carboplatin only .

Last week told of recurrence in same lymph nodes . Waiting for treatment plan

Last November I was diagnosed with a totally unrelated Lobular Breast Cancer so had mastectomy followed by Radiotherapy . This bit was just an unexpected added extra I could have done without !

Hope this helps .
