I had this once during second line. It was elevated and I was diagnosed with prediabetes. The blood test was repeated and it was back in itโ€™s normal range

Hi Suzi

Yes I developed diabetes last summer which was caused by my chemotherapy. I too had not had any problems in this area before. Apparently it is a relatively rare but recognized side effect of chemo.

I am now insulin dependent and self inject twice a day. I also take daily meds to help control it.

I have been told that it can correct itself with time so I am keeping my fingers crossed x

Mine was really high but they did a six month test and that was okay. After chemo it settled down and went back to normal

Chemical therapy is bound to distort our natural make up. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll be fine

A bit of trawling lol. I was sat in the clubhouse at Haven in my wheelchair surrounded by large tigers monkeys and something else while a massive bunch of children screamed or maybe sang lol

After something quieter tonight

Your blood levels for glucose go up and down when on chemo also it affects your cholesterol, try not to worry too much

Steroids are known for raising blood glucose - I was already diabetic but diet controlled before chemo so was given medication to take if my sugars went too high - they resolved post chemo - friend did go on to develop type 2 post chemo-so itโ€™s good that they are keeping eye on your levels x

Hi! Iโ€™ve had the diabetes problem with the chemo, but I was eager to go on Metformin, a drug commonly used to control diabetes, because some studies show it can suppress some forms of ovarian cancer. Here is a link: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
