I ventured out today with my lovely friend Karen. Went to the wig shop and got this bob wig. I really like it. I will be wearing it a lot when my hair starts to fall out.
I got one last year which was long so they said I can take it in and they’ll cut it to how I like.
They didn’t charge me for it. I know I have an exemption card but thought I’d still have to pay something towards it. I did last year.
Hoping all you lovely ladies are all ok today.
Sending you all a hug. Xxxxx

Thank you. Yes I had a better day. I don’t feel so low and weary. It did me good to get out. Was pay day today so bought myself a new top in the sales too.
It did me good to get out. I’m glad I had the energy to do so. Was lovely to spend time with my friend. She’s been an absolute rock throughout all this.
Hi Szanne, I lost my hair 3 times in the last 3 years each time I was going to buy a wig but twice was in summer and just wearing a hat or scarf was so hot I decided not to,
But looking at your photo you look great the bob suite you and frames your lovely smile keep smiling..
Honestly, you look gorgeous. For me, the worst part of losing all my hair was that I no longer had privacy. Everyone could see I was extremely ill. I had very long natural hair, solid white in the front and brunette in the back. No wig can even fake that, plus I always wore it pulled back in a ponytail. Every single wig I tried on looked like a "hair hat". It was devastating. I felt like not only was I ill but I was so conspicuous without my trademark hair that I just quit going out in public. I only spent time with very close friends and family. So, seeing how well this fits you and how lovely you look is an inspiration.
Aww. A wig isn’t for everyone. I know what you mean about a ‘hair hat’. My natural hair was long and thick and I loved it. I used to hate having it trimmed. I kept asking my friend yesterday if it looked like I was wearing a wig. I did feel a bit like people could tell. We went into a coffee shop. No she asked the man serving if he liked my hair as I’d got it fine that morning. He said it looked nice. I then told him it was a wig. I felt I had to. He said he wouldn’t have guessed but He would say that.
Your hair sounds like it was very unique. It will be again. Xxxxx
You look amazing Suzanne! And from the pic I would NEVER have guessed a wig. No luck so far for me, but maybe I'll try this route again. Hugs from Kathy in Seattle USA.
Wow! You nailed it on the head for me Tesla. I tried on a few wigs and not only did they feel awful, but they looked so fake. I'm really small and there was so much HAIR! Yes, conspicuous and no privacy. Exactly. Even though I wear cute hats and try to look my best I feel so self-conscious. Thanks for putting it into words for me. Anything that makes us feel less alone in our experience is a plus for me. Kathy
Suzanne--I got a wig before Frontline and when I put it on eventually I felt like I was trying for the rock star look and I could not wear it. I want to take your picture with me (altho I am not blonde) to say --I want to look like that!!!! Oh and I would not mind borrowing that incredible smile either. You give me hope that if I have to do taxol again I have more options! ENJOY it and watch out for those men that will be following you! oxox
I will--right now, I am on Carbo Doxil and they told me I will only thin, not lose my hair. When I had Carbo Taxol my hair thinned but I did not go bald. So I am hoping that means I won't thin as much as I might (others on this and one other site I am on said many lost 33% of their hair. I am hoping for less. But Taxol may be introduced in the future (don't we wish we could say "if it comes back" but still, its comforting. Thanks for the tip on the scalp part. I do think I have that with the rock star one oxox
Looks great. Some super wigs available these days, reasonably priced too. Having a discount via NHS is very helpful. Have one very similar which has had a lot of wear the last year!
