A little update...

I don't know if you remember us, but my wife was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer late last year (germ cell).

Just popped on as I occasionally do to see how people are doing (you folks gave some amazing advice when I was in "panic mode" at the time).

I delighted to say that so far she's beaten the little bugger (just had our second 3 month check- got that "waiting for the phone call" feeling at the moment as we're waiting for blood reports).

Also, while she was undergoing Chemo she (superhumanly!) was studying for a maths degree. Most of the nurses and doctors said she'd probably best leave it for a year.

However, she battled on through the BEP chemo regime (which was making six foot blokes in the next bed cry their eyes out) and has now got a shiny new Maths degree, and starts her teaching training in a school on Friday!

Just wanted to share a little positive news :)

All the best to you and yours. x

Your wife is a superstar but I bet it was easier having the support and love that you obviously give her. I would be lost and broken without my hubby. Good luck to you. xx

Hi lesrouge.

My hospital will not operate either. Had a debulking op snd chemo in 2015 but had a recurrence. More chemo but no op😣. I live in new zealand which makes it hard for second opinions so I'm considering going overseas. Would you mind giving me the surgeons name and contact details so i can try to get in touch and see if she can give me a second opinion.

Thanks heaps. Take care and goodluck

Hi Rijlje, I read your post and just to let you know the site does not like us to give names on this site can make it hard to pass on recommendations .

I live in Australia and go to Penrith cancer center, I asked for a second opinion and got a referral the top prof at Randwick Medical Oncology Royal Hospital for Women he is well known in the oncology word he was great.

You will need a referral to see him or any other medical person, If you would like to email me with a contact email I will give you some names..hope you get the information to help...... best wishes Lorraine..xx

PS.. do you have private health cover?

Awesome news, well done to your wife with the degree. I did a couple of NVQ's during chemo, it was a fairly good distraction for me but nothing like doing a degree, I'm really impressed.

Good luck with the blood test 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️Xx Jane

That is fantastic news. What a superstar to continue her degree. Respect.

I'm fairly new to this site and have just caught up with your story. I too, was young (34) with a rare and huge tumour (mucinous cystadena carcinoma). I'm 63 now!

Wishing you both health and happiness.
