He did not tell me what the test was for as he thinks that I have IBS however when I googled ca125 it came back as OC however this is a Urine test not a blood test. Is the Urine test for the OC or something else?
My doctor has asked for a Urine sample to test ... - My Ovacome
My doctor has asked for a Urine sample to test for CA125
Hi there, all I know is when I have a ca 125 its always a blood test. I have had urine test when they thought I might have a bladder infection a couple of times but not for anything else. I hope this helps you.
When you see your GP again I would ask him to explain what he has tested you for.
It doesn't hurt to know the symptoms of ovarian cancer that doesn't mean you have it. I have these lovely little awareness cards that one of the lovely ladies on her designed. I often give them a way I put them in Xmas cards & birthday cards. I hope you get the answers you are looking for take care Cindyxx
Hi Birdsong Did you not ask your doc why he wanted a urine SAMPLE? Perhaps he is ruling out or in a urine infection. I wish you well and hope that you won't need anymore than antibiotics
i have aurine infection atm quite a bad one antibiotic not working
Probably checking then to make sure he will give you correct antibiotic. Best of luck with the blood test
Hi. You can not get CA125 results from a urine test. Did the GP say that he was doing a CA test, or did you just presume it. Sounds like he is testing for something else.
Jenny
My mistake, it is ca125 blood test, the urine sample is separate. He gave me both at the same time I thought the form was for the urine sample, I only read the bit on what they were testing for did not check the top where it said blood. They have changed the colour of the form. guess I will have to wait and see
Hi Birdsong
It has been the case that people have been treated for IBS and they have been misdiagnosed so it's a good thing that your doc is doing a test to rule out OC so he is being thorough so don't be alarmed at the moment. The waiting is always a worry but keeping fingers crossed that it's a normal result x
