Stranding

I had my first review yesterday following end of 2nd line chemo in March. Onc was very pleased. CA 125 down to 10 and CT showed NED but did show some 'stranding'. She said it was nothing to be concerned about 'at the moment' but she would see me again in 3 months. Now, I am concerned! Anyone else had this?

Hi

I think you are already concerned - and stranding could be attributed to different things so you could ring your CNS today for clarification. Yes that may worry you but if you can't get through the next few months without it on your mind maybe that's the right thing to do

As you have NED, plus a nice low CA125 and no symptoms then that's great.

We can't advise- only suggest things you COULD do if they are right for you.

Spoke to my cns. She says nothing to worry about- could well be adhesions from my 2 surgeries. If I get any pain that lasts for more than a few days have to get in touch. Now going to put it to back of my mind and enjoy the summer!

Hi Jinty, sometimes I just wonder why they have to throw things at us without realising how this impacts. I've been NED for nearly four years this time round. At my last results appointment I was told by a dr I had never met before ' it's all the same as before NED, and only shows up the spot on your spleen as it's done previously....... Spot on my spleen? What spot on my spleen? Oh it's nothing said the dr, you've probably had it years or maybe even from birth!. My Nurse rolled her eyes and mouthed 'Your fine'. So now I am aware I have a 'spot' on my spleen, never mentioned in the last nearly 10 years of scans MRI's etc. I hold tight onto the fact that I have a CA125 of below 3, feel fine and they say I am NED - despite my 'Spot'!! I wouldn't worry too much, as Kathy said they do like a random curveball. A doc carrying out a scan for blood clots said he can only see the small amount of calcification so all good. Well that was news to me it's not on any scan I don't think. GP said probably from a bad chest infection years ago 🤔

Don't you just love them lol
