Bulky ovaries!

Hi I am new to this, I was told on Friday that I have bulky ovaries with calcification. What does this mean? A rheumatologist discovered it when he looked back at a scan which I had done in August, I was told that the scan was normal. I have now been referred to a gynaecologist. Any advice please?

HI Tilly, an mri scan will show up every little thing. Of course a rheumatologist would not have sufficient knowledge of gynae affairs to give you a full explanation so you are being referred to a gynae for this. In the meantime perhaps you could contact your doctor who may be able to help you. I would have no idea of the meaning of the term calcification.

I wouldn't over stress over this, but as Suzuki said, contact your doctor and arrange an appointment to get this cleared up.Write down any questions you want answers to and accept any testing or consultations from experts in the field.

I can't offer any more advice since I too have not heard this term.
