Hi Kate, I would suggest the Fortesip shakes if you are not eating at the moment, you can get these on prescription. Otherwise, maybe smoothies or juices with a bit of ginger and more veg than fruit. Bananas are good and also maybe rice puddings, perhaps bovril or marmite and not forgetting the old reliable scrambled eggs. If you are living in Ireland, Breakthrough Cancer in Cork has a Cookery book available with some nice recipies, if not I am sure if you wrote to them, they would post it to you. Wishing you well

If you buy a Nutribullet the recipe book that comes with that has some great recipes for energy boosters.

A dietician recommended I make a flapjack from coconut oil/butter, brown sugar, treacle or honey + zest of a lemon and pack it full of nuts, seeds and fruits, e.g. cashew nuts, broken brazil nuts, almonds, sunlower, pumpkin, ground linseed, sultanas, semi-dried cranberries, raisins, etc.ect. Basically put in whatever your tummy can enjoy and keep down; just an inch cube is a good booster for me before taking any exercise and doesn't make me feel 'full'. I followed Lorraine Pascale's simple flapjack recipe and added the extra nutritional punch according to the dietician and my tummy!

Hope this works for you Kate.

Apparently avocados contain e everything

Apparently avocados contain everything necessary to sustain life (?) so I usually eat one with a few nuts when I can't really be bothered to eat.

Hope you have more energy soon. Jenny

I was going to suggest some sort of seed/nut dense flapjack or granola, with dried fruit. I have a lovely granola recipe that I make up once a week and a small bowlful keeps me going until lunchtime. Also avocados as mentioned above.

Pinterest has lots of recipes for energy balls, lots of dried fruit and nuts. I'm addicted to Pinterest I go looking for a recipe and then realise it's 30mins later and I'm browsing kitchen designs!!!! Lol I can dream.

Hope you're well

Thanks - Hidden , harpist_UK lesleysage 27-359 Yoshbosh bibs73 Sunfleury-UK . All of you had some amazing advice. I really appreciate it! I need to get more into the cooking scene! Flapjacks and avocado's are a great idea. I will slowly transition into making my own but for the moment I've been buying some natural energy bars from Live Better With - Not usually a fan of supermarket style bars but I really like them. If any of you are interested here is the link; livebetterwith.com/products... @sunfleury - I looked at Penny Brohn they have some excellent nutrition advice as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

When you feel up to it, granola is the easiest thing in the world to make, but to make your own probably costs more than the shop bought kind!
