I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I had a lovely afternoon just pottering around Dobbies. This new wig is tremendous in that it is very cool, being cut into the nape of the neck.
Planning a greenhouse and looking at various structures. I want to grow my plants from seed and of course a crop of salad vegetables next year.

That's nice Debs .. growing from seed helped me very much .. I think each to their own .. but seeing things grow. To me. Was wonderful. I sold plants to make money. I did sell more than I thought at the gate but it costed a fortune! However, it brought sanity into my life xxx
Great growing your own salad etc. I have grown lettuce and tomatoes from plants just for our own use. I am glad you had a productive day, we all need projects to keep us on hand, The wig is fab, wouldnt think it was a wig
Thanks mate. I'm rather pleased with it. I also had a razz around like a maniac in the carpark (empty). I've not sat behind the wheel of a motor in months and boy, have I missed it. It's the first time in ages that I have actually felt alive. xx

The wig is super. It's sits close to the top of your head. Mine looks like a lego or or playmobile helmet. Must look at the website you posted. You will get a lot of satisfaction at growing your own plants. Watering and nurturing becomes quite obsessive looking after the little babies. Lol. Good luck xx

Thank you very much. I never, ever, anticipated I would wear a wig. Having a good head of thick glossy hair, I had a total meltdown at the thought of losing it. Now I know that it isn't really all that important and that being healthy (ish) and alive trumps having an expensive haircut. I now have five wigs and addicted to the damn things..... 
If you have an NHS voucher, you will need to find an accredited supplier to spend it with. My CNS gave me a list to choose from. The lady who I bought mine from was very helpful and I was sold on a Rene, shoulder length style. When someone pointed me to that website, I got adventurous and bought a long one (same shade) so that I could ruffle it up and wear various accessories in it. I would advise you buy a 'Tangle Teaser' to gently comb out tats and a good wig shampoo. xx

That's a fabulous wig Debs. When my mum lost her hair she bought a big curly wig as she'd always worn a curly style. She didn't like it and just wore it for church and for junior choir practice so she wouldn't scare the children! It made her head itch and she was terrified of it blowing off in the wind! But now she has lovely short hair and it looks great and she saves so much time in the evenings with not having to put heated rollers in! Jane x
Really fantastic look. Are you wearing the eyelashes you recommended? My fingers are so numb now I can't get the eyelashes close to my lash line or straight for that matter. There's still time to grow salad veggies this year straight into the garden, lettuce, kohl-rabi cucumbers, etc. Pop down to your local garden centre and have a look at the packets of seeds. Actually, no. I'm just wearing kohl pencil tight lined on the lash line. I do wear the eyelashes when going out for a meal or the pub though. Oddly enough, the gap in chemo before and after my op has led to a short growth spurt of eyelashes.
I can't grow veg straight into the garden because we have a lot of cats we've rescued over the years and I encourage them as much as possible to stay in our garden. I might look at raised beds with a net frame next year though.. xx

Sounds fun but why wait for the greenhouse? We have two small wooden ones and grow salad leaves. They only take a few weeks to be ready and you can cut a first crop and another one grows. Though younare probably more ambitious than us. We've given up on tomatoes but we're in Yorkshire 1000 Ft above sea level. Lovely views but no tomatoes.
I have tomato plants in the conservatory at the moment. Let's see if they're 'Debs proof' xx

When I was diagnosed, my daughter and i debated whether to go with a wig or à natural. I wanted to be exotic and choose a wig, but none looked as great as yours (or, honestly, I simply don`t look -and never did-as lovely as you).
Fortunately, I live in Portland, Oregon (am I even supposed to be on this forum?), and in Portland, I could dye my scalp green and wear a tutu down the street and no one would even notice! I shaved my head and have been very happy ever since (except for the chemo).
I have just purchased 2 Rosemary seedlings and am hoping for the best. I am not good at gardening, but Rosemary is my favorite plant, so I`m going to try.
I love being with you warm and supportive folks and hope you don`t mind a yank in your midst.

I adore Rosemary and also Lavender. I'm not that brilliant at gardening either, but I intend to get stuck in in a few weeks time when I'm feeling stronger. I feel drawn to doing so of late..
I must have some paving done for the greenhouse to sit on as our garden can get very muddy indeed.
Of course you are supposed to be here, you are a warrior like the rest of us. You're in great company..

Living life is so much better in the summer.
Last year was a bit of a washout in the garden and it has taken a wee while to get it back from its neglected state.
I started growing vegetables 3 years ago. This years choice is Pak Choi, little white turnip, beetroot and onions. I grow these in a raised bed 10 foot X 4 foot. Also grow salad and radish in pots. I have a sunny south facing wall where I have a, not very, productive fig tree, and raspberries in abundance. Also grow tumbler tomatoes in hanging baskets, and cucumbers and chilli in a small lean too greenhouse. Have just spent this weekend moving pots around and tidying the garden so I can sit out in the sunshine (ever hopeful) and enjoy some relaxation when I get out of hospital next Monday.
Funny thing about the tutu. I made one for myself to go to a fancy dress party, more than a few years ago, as a fuschia flower fairy. Lots of net, pink hair, wings you probably get the picture. The skirt was so sticky out, that I struggled to get close to the buffet table, much to the amusement of my husband and friends.
its so much fun to get mobile again. It's doing all the simple things again for the first time that makes life enjoyable. Happy days.

Good stuff to hear about your growing plans. I have an allotment and love coming home with stuff grown there. I just hope I can keep it going as I have just been diagnosed and know there is a lot to come where I won't be able to keep nipping over and pottering about. Hope you get some salad going - baby purple turnips are a surprisingly good and quick thing to grow to put in salads or steam.... All the best, Netti
