I go into hospital Sunday pm for op on Monday to remove ovaries and Fallopian tube. I'm still clueless as what to expect post op. I have a complex multi-loculated cyst that GYN has said is suspicious. Can anyone tell me what to expect please love Carol x
Nervous : I go into hospital Sunday pm for op on... - My Ovacome
Nervous
Hi Carol,
Wishing you all the best for Monday.
Have you asked what the op is, full de bulking or just keyhole to remove ovaries and tubes. Recover will differ greatly.
Normally you have to sign paperwork which explains it all beforehand.
X
Hello Carol
had the same operation as you nine weeks ago in Northampton hospital, they also took the omentum away as well due to my age 73.
I could not have this operation by key-hole as the cyst was too large.
Everything went well, I stayed in hospital three days, I was very sore at the beginning,
but I am now beginning to feel a lot better.
I had a nurse come in each day to give me a blood thinning injection for four weeks.
I had to wait two weeks for the Biopsy report and lucky for me everything they took away was benign.
Do hope all goes well for you on Monday and wish you the best of luck, try to think positive.
Best Wish Shirley
I was in Northampton Hospital too, two weeks ago, Spencer ward. Who is your consultant?

Hello Lilly-Anne
I did read one of your messages and wondered if you were with the same consultant as me.
My consultant was Mr Duncan a lovely doctor but the day I was due for my operation Mr Duncan was so behind he kept me in over-night and I had my operation early next day with Doctor Sefre also a lovely doctor.
Yes I was in Spencer Ward but only for three days, they soon send you home not that I wanted to stay any longer.
I live in Wavendon in Milton Keynes, but because my cyst was suspicious I had to have my operation in Northampton hospital.
How are you feeling Lilly-Anne do not over do it.
Love Shirley
I am under Mr Sefre, but also see Mr Duncan, they operated on me together with a bowel surgeon. I can't say I enjoy hospital stays much either. Just nagging hubby to get those Christmas lights up as no tree for us this year. Not been feeling so good, but body is mending.

I could not wait to get home either, some of the nurses were lovely but it was so noisy day and night.
We are the same must get our tree up tomorrow, find everything an effort still.
The lights are the worse bit.
You will have to have a quiet Christmas this year, it is very early days for you.
We need some sunshine.
Hope you will feel better soon

Hi Carol,
It's another Carole again,I had everything ,ovaries, tubes, the whole kit and caboodle taken away September 2014.I have a scar from my belly button to below bikini line, so hardly keyhole!
I followed op with 6 months Carbo/Taxol.You will feel sore and be taught ways to get up from sitting and lying, which I found worse, but no-one was a bigger coward than me and I got through, you will find the strength from within.
I was given Morphine after the op and then coped with just Paracetemol, so the pain was bearable. You must remember not to do anything strenuous for 6 weeks, including mundane things like vacuuming...result! And most of all relax and potter.Walking is a good thing and eat little and often.I found peppermint tea a good thing as you will suffer with wind and it can be painful.
I will be thinking of you, hopefully it!s just keyhole, but if it isn't there's lot's of us here who have got through and come out the other side.If you want to talk you know where we are xxx
Hello. I also had the same as Carole above, same procedure same treatment, and same feelings! I also found ginger tea soothing and occasionally a glass of dry ginger was refreshing. I really wish you well and hope all goes smoothly. Carolyn x

Have you spoken to your GP I'm sure he will listen to you and take your concerns on board. If you have a second opinion at the practice wouldn't go amiss. Ask for a scan, find out what he has in mind to treat your symptoms it maybe as simple as needing anti-biotics! Here's hoping you get the treatment you need love Carol
he mentioned scan its me putting it off because am that scared... i have serious health anxiety... i am convinced its the end for me... cant stop crying ... just awful xxx
I'm going to sound very stern, but you need to do something about this instead of writing to us about it.
You need to take up the opportunity for this to be investigated instead of putting it off.
I have no idea what is going on with you and neither will anyone else until investigations have had a look.
There's no point crying about the unknown. And you don't want to end up giving yourself something to cry about.
You are too young to have all that discomfort and apparently quite a few health problems and not try to get treatment or make lifestyle changes to improve things.
As I say, I have no idea and neither do you.
But if it does turn out to be something ovarian, delay can be lethal.
Please please get down to the GP and accept every test and scan s/he can give you. And push for more. Try and identify a sensible friend or family member and get them to go with you and really push you to get to the bottom of this.
Mac this forum is anyone who has or fears they may have ovarian problems. A bit of gentle reassurance and advice to what would be helpful is all that is required . Hope you are as well as your care can be love Carol
We all need a kind words your kind words were thank you. Just do the thing that makes the most sense, and I'm sure you will get the best from it. Love Carol x
