Hello .. you are not the only Irish 'girl' on this site. A number of us found it - through OvaCare (check it out , if you have not heard of them).

My bio/history is on my profile and I am based in Cork.

Hope you stay connected and keep us all updated on your progress.

Regards, Daisies

Hi ... did I meet you in Cork at Patient Day in Clarion Hotel??

I agree about the little s%$ts having a life of their own....no matter what we do, they sneak in somewhere. Have not been on Caelyx so can't offer any advice.

Let us know how you progress and if a few glasses of poteen helps, why not.

Daisies xx

Hi eilyeire. Another irish gal here - down in cork. Also just started third line of treatment last month so similar timeline to yourself. I've found Ovacare and my ovacome a massive support over the last 3 years but regularly "take a break" from online forums for a number of reasons eg at the moment I'm attending for a few counselling sessions and one of the tasks I was set was to decrease my "tech time"!!! Good luck with your upcoming treatment and keep us updated - keep me in mind for coffee if you're ever down South?? And keep an eye out for Ovacare patient days - have always found them brilliant - many information sessions are available online. Best wishes. X

Hi EilyEire. I am not from the real capital cork but from the west of Ireland and glad to be in touch wth Ovacare group because there are not enough of primary peritoneal people to form a separate group. Besides lots of things are similar including symptoms and chemo. I am happy to under the welcoming umbrella of Ovacare. Welcome aboard

Hi EilyEire, I am another Ovacare member going through my 1st reaccurance . I found Ovacare in the summer of 2013 shortly after I finished chemo for the 1st time. I am from the midlands and find their are no Ladies around where I live so I find the site a great sourse of comfort and great for letting of steam and getting advise. I also read the posts on the Ovacome site and sometimes post. Kittie

Hi EilyEire, I'm another Coleen from Galway who found this site a godsend since I was diagnosed in July 2014(a big shock) . I have just finished 8 chemos after debulking in Feb. I have just started Avastin on a 21 day basis and so far have had no real problems in comparison to the side effects of Carbo/taxol which left me tired and Ill for a week after each infusion. I will have scans again in Sept so am trying to enjoy the summer. I have my daughter and three beautiful grandchildren from NewZealand visiting for 3 months which is wonderful. Wishing you best of luck in your treatment and know that you will find this a wonderful support. X Marcelina.

hi Marcelina, ya carb/tax horrible but I got 18 good mths out of it.put whole thing out of your mind and enjoy summer with your family.xx

Hi EilyEire, welcome to the Ovacare site. I do find it helpful, I hate saying this but I am also in Cork. Its like a Cork Mafia but we are a friendly lot. We also have members from other parts of Munster and the country. I have been to Ovacare info days and coffee mornings and there is actually one coming up on July 11th if I remember rightly. You never know we might end up with a Cork /Mayo Football all Ireland final since we did so poorly yesterday with Waterford in the hurling. . I have never been on that combo. At the moment I am on Avastin, with a few side effects nothing major so far. Do keep in touch because some one will help you and fill you in. The Ovacome site is also helpful, I am joined the two.

EilyEire - as you can see from the response to your post, there are quite a few of us on-line. Mind you, there must be many more who have not found the site yet.

Have been in Mayo 3 times - twice on Achill and once to Knock, when my sister persuaded me to do the pilgrimage ....!!!!, When on Achill Island (in my youth) we thought it would be a great idea to climb Croagh Patrick one night - when we had a drink or two taken. Was a bit wild when younger and also fitter.

Lovely county with great scenery though.

enjoying a bit of fine weather again and I only hope it lasts again.
