They told me my CA125 was only slightly high( didn't tell me number). Should I be worried? Even though Ive had the cyst for 4 years already? The doctor told me I will be fine that CA125ct means other things as well and not to worry, but its hard to do that not knowing whats going on. Any advice would very appreciated and helpful, thank you

It is hard not to worry, and the risen ca125 could be risen for a number of reasons...four years does seem a long time for nothing to show, but of course I don't know....I am sorry I am not much help, there might be others that have gone or are going through the same thing that might be able to help.

Best wishes love x G x

A lot depends on your age. If you are premenopausal, your CA125 can go up to 200, well over normal, usually 35. Post menopause, the figure would be more of a concern, but even so most elevations under about 1,000 turnout to be due to other conditions, such as fibroids, endometrioisis, etc.. The size is good, because usually < 5cm is a good indication that whatever it is, it has been caught in time. But, best of all, it is going to be removed, so that means that you will know for sure shortly after surgery. Usually the surgeon visits soon after you return to the ward, and explains what he has seen. After that, it will be send to a pathologist, who will examine the cyst and also cells from the cyst under a microscope. This info is based on what I was told pre and during my surgery by the various specialists involved, and what I have learned since then.

Best wishes, Vxxx
