Hi Sue,
There are a few people on this site that have had similar problems to you,I am sure they will be along soon, it is pretty worrying when you are waiting for results, sending you my best wishes love x G x
Thanks Gwen, it's the unknown that makes all those n worse. Xx
Sending you best wishes. As you say, waiting is the worst stage. Hope you get some heartening news later this week. If you need to talk things over, the details of who you can contact are on the Ovacome website ovacome.org.uk

Dear SunflowerSue
I'm sorry you're having to go through this. At least you have members in your area and I know Maidstone looks after you very well.
Please do think about getting a second opinion at the Royal Marsden or similar. It's always worth doing this because hospitals can offer places on clinical trials and this might give you an additional route such as a different chemotherapy or radical surgery. The facilities on offer aren't standard across all hospitals and these days you need to 'shop around'.
Please let us know how you're getting on. xxx love Annie
Thanks Annie, how would I go about getting a second opinion, although I have been happy with my treatment at Maidstone, and my ongologist. Do I need to be referred somehow? Thank you for taking time to reply. Xx
You can find your second opinion consultant any way you like - through research, through recommendation, or by request. So if you have a name and location you only need to ask your onc to write and request the 2nd, and its perfectly normal to do that - no offence will be taken. Or, you can ask your onc for a recommendation - eg say you would like her/him to refer you for a second opinion at the royal marsden, or another cancer centre of excellence of which there are several around the country. The ladies here may have some names for you, in striking distance if Kent -- but tbh I would go for RM if you can
Hope things work out for you, so worrying all this stuff
Love

Hi sue,
I am stage 4 with tumors in my neck. I was diagnosed 2 and 1/2 years ago now. I have had various chemo's and surgery. I am a positive person and make the best of my situation but I still get scared and worried.
My onc can't operate on the neck tumors but the chemo I am currently on is reducing them. I have some tumors in my lymph nodes but not on any major organs.
We sound very similar in where the cancer is. If you want to chat to me then private message me with your phone number and I'll give you a ring.
Hugs Jackie xxxx
Hi Sue
My experience is quite different so I have no answers ? All I can do is echo others in the suggestion that you ask for a second opinion and follow Jackie's advice and live as fully as you can.
Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts.
Love Margaret
Thank you all for your help, it's good to know your not alone, I have requested a second opinion at RM, so at least I feel as I'm doing something. I've been quite positive until now, hopefully i can pull myself up again, thank you for your support.

Hello Sue
Just to say well done for making the request. I have nothing but good things to say about the way I have been looked after at the RM Sutton. I don't think I would have pushed for a referral (a number of years ago now) had it not been for the encouragement I received on this site. I felt it was important to feel like I had taken control of the situation and have left no stone left unturned,
