Hello Donnasweet!

Welcome to the forum it's a great place for advice and wisdom! I think you said you were in America and many of the ladies on this are UK/ireland so the time difference might mean you won't get answers straight away but I am sure you will get loads of advice all the same and we do have other ladies here from the US!

I had Carbo/Taxol earlier this year for stage 1 OC I finished in March. I was terrified before I started the chemo as I am sure you are too. Its a tough road but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They will give you Meds to help, antisickness and steroids and they do help. One piece of advice I give everyone is to drink loads of water as you go through Chemo it is quiet severe on your digestive system and the water will help with this.

Everyone experiences chemo differently and you might be lucky and not have many of the side effects. I didn't suffer from nausea or neuropathy (numbness in your finger and toes and pain) some people do. My digestive system was upset but I managed to get through that without it being too bad!

What I would suggest is that you keep in touch with the forum here as you go through the treatment and ask about the various symptoms and you will get loads of advice. Also talk to the nurses in the chemo ward if you have any questions at all they are generally great for advice and help as you go through your treatment.

I am sure you have been told this but generally Taxol results in hair loss and that can be very hard. It does grow back and there are many ways to deal with it including wigs, scarves, turbans again you will get loads of advice here!

I hope you get through the Chemo ok and keep in touch with the ladies here there is an abundance of wisdom and a lot of support!

All the best and Happy Christmas!

Dx

Have the best Christmas you can . This site has been my lifeline over the last 4 years even if I don't reply to all the posts. Kittie

Hi Donnasweet

I had 6 sessions of carbo/taxol last year for stage IIIc on just after massive, extensive debulking surgery. I was clear for 12 months and now I'm in recurrence. I'm getting now carbo and caelyx. From my experience carbo and taxol is easy and mild treatment. This one is killing me. But everyone is different and hopefully your treatment won't be bad for you. I wish you this from all my heart.

When I got clear and when I recovered after first treatment I've decided to set up website with my story, blog, and some handy info. Also I'm providing headwear for ladies who are loosing their her due treatment.

Maybe you will be interested and maybe you wish to have a read. You are more than welcome as I haven't any visitors on my web from US yet 😉

Wiahing you all the best, be strong, positive and fight hard!
