Anyone on Tymlos? I am hoping for good stories.

I am supposed to be starting it. On the plus side - I went to a top top top Endocrinologist yesterday. And he said about how bad my Numbers are but he said,

“The dexa only gives 40% of the story. We don’t know why you haven’t fractured yet”

( implying there is something strong about your bones )

I have the same situation. Bad scores but not broken a bone. Yes, we know from research Dexa doesn't tell the whole story nor can we compare our situation to others due to the complexity of the human body and how each individual reacts to everything that happens to their body.

As I remember you are not doing any medicine and you are doing weight training, supplements, diet, exercise. I think my numbers are worse than yours -4.7 spine, -3.1 and -3.4 femurs.

Yes, yours are worse but I'm not far behind. No, not on meds yet. Still hoping for better med options to be invented but will consider meds down the road as I then won't be on them for 3+ decades.

yes

In my situation since many things are unknown about bones - it’s an unknown when to start the medicine but after processing all the information for 4 months I believe it’s time to start and believe me once you decide it’s a slow process with insurance. So I don’t know when I could fracture and at this point I do want to strengthen my bones. I am 60 years old and I will be on them forever according to my endocrinologist.

I've only been on Tymlos for 3 weeks, but so far so good. No apparent side effects as of yet. Prolia was an absolute no for me, too dangerous with all my co-morbids.
