How long do PPIs take to work?

I have acid reflux and I’ve been on Famotidine, Esomeprazole, each for 2 weeks, and now omeprazole for 6 weeks. Cut out all acidic and spicy food. I still have heartburn every day. I usually get it at around noon. How long do these PPIs take to work? Just wondering if they’re not even helping. I also now have a B12 deficiency which I’m getting weekly shots for.

They didn't work for me either. They would have helped by now. You may want to consider surgery if your lower oesophagal sphincter isn't working.

Hi, have you tried taking the Omeprazole an hour before your main meal rather than in the morning? It has helped me to have it before meals. Good luck.

I have not. However my heartburn is not usually after I eat, it happens more on an empty stomach.
