Hi, my pregnancy due date is in September. Can you help me out with the list of items for the hospital maternity bag as this is my first pregnancy in UK.

Hello! Congratulations. I haven't had any children myself but some things that my brother's partners have said are:

* Will need 2 bags - 1 for yourself and 1 for baby. In your bag pack toiletries, clothing, slippers. Heavy absorbing pads.

* Fan (hospitals get hot)

*Baby's bag - if formula feeding will need to take in premade formula as not able to make up powder formula in hospital. Also hats

* Won't feed fathers' - so snacks for dad (Jaffa cakes, energy drinks)

There are some other useful ideas on the Just One Norfolk Website that you might want to check out:

Hi, what an exciting time for you ❤️ . For me my essentials were:

- maternity pads/ heavy absorbing pads.

- big and old pants and honestly I think I needed a few changes of pyjama bottoms.

- bf bra if you are breast feeding and vest top or feeding top.

- a way to charge my phone. I’m not sure what the hospital policy is for phone charging but I know I’ve had stays on the children’s ward where I’ve needed battery charges.

- snacks / reusable water bottle/ cup

- any essentials around your birth plan. I also had a copy of my birth plan but that was a few years ago so I’m not sure if the systems are more digital now. Although tbh a paper copy was useful. I also needed a pillow and my dressing gown. Even though it gets hot. At night I’d sometimes feel cold from being tired I think.

essentials for baby bag was:

Newborn nappies ( amazing how many you get through)

pre-made formula if formula feeding,

scratch mits, socks, vests and hat.

Muslin squares, and light/small baby blanket

Everything else you usually need for you for overnight stay plus baby clothes for going home, car seat know how to fit in car etc.

Also I used to send my other half instructions of what to bring in for me as I needed extra supplies of say nappies, pads etc. So you may want a handy box of bits to tell them where to get anything extra that you need.

Sending lots of positive thoughts and wishes to you at such an exciting and special time for you! 🥰🥰
