Hi, I'm new here, My baby is 5months and 2weeks and he won't sleep unless he is suckling, he has to have my nipples in his mouth while sleeping, and anytime you remove it thinking he has fallen asleep, he wakes up crying. We stay like this throughout the night, even when he wants to nap in the afternoon. Any help because I'm really tired, I wake up with aches as a result of having to stay in a particular position for long.He is my first baby and he won't take a dummy😭😭😭. Please any help/suggestions

Hiya, this sounds really hard - it must be exhausting, how have the last few days been? My babies are all older and at school now but I can remember having a similar problem with my first when she was little. I was able to use dummies fortunately but this was quite hard as I was breast feeding and my daughter didn’t overly like using one. I tried lots of different shapes and brands and managed to find one that helped in the end. I also read up on setting a little baby routine around sleep and did trial and error to work out what helped. My daughter benefited from a white noise machine and using black out blinds for example. I know working out sleep patterns can be difficult and it can take a little time so it might help from speaking to the HV team to support you with this 😊.
