Churches are more than a place to pray

We moved to Norfolk at the beginning of the year from a busy city We were immediately drawn to the open air, the beautiful scenery and the architecture of the hundreds of churches. Our son is almost 3 and he loves going on church treks. We get him looking at the carvings, letters and numbers. He loves reading the inscriptions on the floor. Alot of the time there are children's areas with toys, books, drawing impliments. Some even have tea, coffee and biscuits. We get to learn alot about the history of the church, the area and influencial figures. We have a "church purse" that we keep loose change in, we donate money for drinks or pay for leaflets. It's cheap, it's educational, very peaceful and we aren't religious.
