Hi, just wondering if anyone have any tips for storing cooked brocolli and carrots once blended for an 6 month old and for how long to keep them? For fridge & freezer? Thanks.

Hi, I used to make a range of blends with broccoli and carrots. Either on their own or combined with a more carb veg like sweet potato or butternut squash. Sometimes I tried to combine a few although I found if I used potato blend it would get really starchy.

To begin with I would freeze in ice cube trays and then pop them out after and store the cubes in food bags so I could label easily. Depending on what went down well I would then start storing individually in bigger plastic containers or pouches but personally I found them harder to wash with the blends. For freezer I would do them for a few months but in the fridge they would last only a day or so at most in terms of freshness.

With ice cube freezing I found it super helpful using a different number of them and mixing them up with maybe a fresh veg I was cooking from my own tea as I increased tastes 😊 xxx

Hello foodie242 I have popped a couple of useful links on here. Both contain information around storing and heating food safely. Mrs Hello is correct ice cube trays are ideal for freezing blended fruits and vegetables 👍
