please can anyone help on what to expect.

my dad has oesophagus cancer and was not well enough for surgery, he has recently developed breathing problems and has hardly any energy. the doctors have given him a course of iron tablets, and a recent xray has shown he has a mass on his left lung, The doctors told him that he has a secondary infection that they are treating with antibiotics and steroids. I Dont know what to expect as every thing i have read seems to be on syptoms and treatments and not on what is going to happen and what to expect, please can anyone tell me what sort of things to expect and prepare for. thankyou

It is enormously difficult to tell you what exactly will happen next. I would advise you to discuss the situation with your Dad's medical support team who will be much better informed. Write all your questions down so that you don't have to rely on memory when you meet them.

You can also talk to us on the OPA support line which would probably be a better way to assist you through the challenges.
