Hi i’m new to this my partner had his op 27th November after 9weeks of chemo wasn’t given chemo after op just had results after CT scan and the cancer has spread to 3 places we are completely devastated after he has been through so much now embarking on more chemo with herceptin this time we are both so worried and i’m crying all the time i don’t want to lose him anybody has herceptin with ositivw results

That must be devastating news after such a serious operation. The same thing happened to one of our group members 3 years ago. He started on Herceptin and is still on it ,and the most important thing it is still working. He is an active member of our support group and goes to the Hospital every 3 for the treatment. I know it's easy to say but please try to stay positive. There are new treatments currently being developed.

I'm so sorry to hear this and I hope you manage to get some encouraging replies so that you can move forward. May I say you are not alone, I recently posted that my husband had chemo and the Ivor Lewis late October last year, and we were given the terrible news last week that his cancer has spread into his liver and his rib and he has nodes in hs chest somewhere, there is nothing can be done. The shock of this is much worse than the shock of his diagnosis in July, at least then we had hope. So we've brought him home to spend the rest of his days in comfort surrounded by love.

I completely understand there is nothing they can do the doctors don’t want him to come home but i don’t care i just need him home so we can spend what is left together not in a hospital ward he wants to come home so that’s what we will do lots of love Angie
this such a horrible illness he was so well after chemo and op but now major spread i just need to get him home against doctors advice he is not going to die in that place

Dear Angie, I empathise with you completely. I know you are desperate to have him home but please make sure you have enough care for him at home, either through your family, the GP or else through Marie Curie or Hospice community care or Social work. Ask to speak to the Palliative care team in the hospital. In our case we came home and there was no care package in place, eventually the District nurses arranged a Fast Track 7 day Marie Curie package, this has been extended but as yet I don't know what will happen after Monday evening because of Social work being closed over the holidays weekend. and his GP has prescribed his medicines and the D. Nurses some in regularly to administer these. But whatever happens we will manage.
We are so pleased that he is at home and we are together in these final weeks/days, family and friends visit , we have good spiritual care so we are taking it one day at a time. I wish you well. Fiona
I am so sorry you both are going through this. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the bile duct, and he was actually doing fine until he started the chemo. That's when everything started going downhill. I initially begged him NOT to take the chemo, because I felt it would do more harm than good. He wouldn't listen to me. Only after he took the chemo and saw it's effects, as it not only destroys the bad cells, but the good ones too, making the cancer spread quicker, is when he realized he shouldn't have done it. I lost my baby June 19, 2016. Try to use Turmeric and Curcumin herbs. They fight cancer. My heart and prayers are with you.
He has deteriorated so much this week not eating being sick so weak i am thinking i will have to take him to A&E tomorrow are trying alternative treatment as well but so scared right now that he will not make it
