Hi my names Daniella and I recently had the fundoplication and my sliding hiatus hernia repaired, I'm 3 weeks after the surgery that went well, but now 3 weeks after I'm having trouble sleeping? (Even on sleeping tablets I can't sleep) Has any one else had this op and any of these problems ?

Is it pain that keeps you awake? Or troubling thoughts about the surgery you have been through?

I would experiment with changing your sleeping position, and perhaps try raising your head and chest?

Try relaxation techniques.

There are some hints on sleeping on the factsheets available through the OPA website.

Be realistic ........... you have had quite a major procedure; the timescale for recovery and a return to something like normality is measured in months, if not years.
