post op holiday insurance

Hi everybody, my wife to be and i are planning our honeymoon and i have just realised that due to my "condition" we would either be "ripped off" or in fact not be able to get insurance.

We intend to go to Maderia and Cyprus, I would be gratefull for any info on this

I had the same fear. I found a company called Towergate who provided with me annual cover at a reasonable rate. Even when my medication changed, they made no chane to my premium litho ugh they did ask for a note from my GP about my fitness to travel

There are a number of brokers who advertise cover for cancer sufferers although when I was shopping round didn't want to insure me because of my use of opiates.

As with all things, suggest you invest time in thorough shopping around

I have travel insurance that comes with my credit card , on speaking to them and explaining my medical condition, and because I take no ongoing medication, there was nothing extra to pay.

There is a list of insurers who will cover cancer patients on the Macmillan website. I use a company called Able2Travel, who have provided me with reasonably priced, annual worldwide cover from 5 months post-op. It will all depend on whether you are still undergoing treatment and what medication you are on. Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and good luck. G

I found at ten months post op single trip cover lots cheaper than anual .Have agreat time. Best wishes Gray.

If you are not receiving ongoing treatment, then best to speak to your regular provider.

I went with a specialist (not cheap), but then last year spoke to Lloyds re cover with our current account, and as I was not receiving any treatment and no medication, I was offered full cover at no extra cost.
