My latest dilemma

As I wrote the other week, the chest pain has been hard but manageable the sore throat well it comes and goes, brave face and all that. Depression well that's another story. I cry ugly for a 49 year old male.

I'm due to fly out to Orlando next Saturday, incant believe my luck with this.

Nothing feels like it's getting stuck but the pressure feeling below the throat is tough.

My appointment with the gastro Dr is next wed and holiday there after. Don't know about the scope yet just the private consultant on which I'm terrified about.

Off course I'm naturally anxious about going and I haven't been diagnosed with anything. I'm crazy not to go but it's so difficult showing enthusiasm

Tough one

I developed a sore throat, hoarse voice, felt like a baked bean skin stuck in my throat etc; last September, thought it was acid related and this was confirmed with a laryngoscopy as LPR ( laryngopharyngeal reflux ). Like you, it comes and goes, but mainly comes. Unfortunately there's no treatment for it other than over the counter throat lozenges. Gargling with salt water or TCP was a big mistake I discovered.

Gaviscon Advance soothes it a bit, but best thing is to get your acid reflux under control. Elevate your head as much as is comfortable in bed and take a big gulp of Gaviscon.

BTW the laryngoscopy was a doddle, never felt a thing, didn't even bother with a local.
