Anti anxiety medications

Hi,

I’m really struggling with my mental health at the moment. My last CT scan showed slightly enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and I am terrified the cancer has returned. I have been referred for a PET scan, which the oncologist said would be quite quick (within a week) but because they are so busy they can’t fit me in till next Thursday and I don’t get the results till 14th June. My CT scan was over a month ago so I’m worried about what is going on inside me. I find I am anxious and tearful most of the day and I have my children at home next week (we haven’t told them about the scan) so I really need to get my anxiety under control. Was wondering whether to ask my GP for some medication to help with the anxiety. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of medication? Does it give you side effects and if so, what we’re they? I have also signed up for some counselling but it won’t start for a while. Thanks

Please speak to your GP and get some help. Anxiety is real and very hard to deal with on your own.

I have found meditation and breathing exercises very helpful.

I also take CBD oil which helps with my nausea, back ache and anxiety.
