If you have your CNS's contact details approach in first instance.

Else secretary for the GI team, if you have contact details.

If both not available then contact GP and let them know and ask to chase with GI team.

Stay string and optimistic. With the teams being busy it must be taking some time to pass the information around. Suggest to not overthink please.

You will get there eventually. As long as you are managing the chemo successfully, its good for you. Chin up and keep pushing.

I have felt abandoned since the beginning of this cancer arrived.I initially had throat cancer in 2012 which was successfully treated with raidiography.

In 2018 I started to get the same symptoms so I went to my GP three times before I managed to get a referral to hospital cancer department, meeting with consultant was a waste of time as he did not examine me all he did was put the camera up my nose and down the throat and told me you are all clear? I went away and my pains started to increase so I went back to hospital this time I saw another consultant same procedures same result. I demanded more as I new I had cancer somewhere in my throat as I was now struggling to eat and drink.they offered me a CT scan the results were negative.I was now getting very concerned with this as I knew I have cancer so I insisted on further investigation, they then gave me an MRI scan yet again after waiting 2 months came back negative? I would not accept this and asked to put a scope down my throat which they were reluctant to do. So in order to get this to happen I read about having a stricture procedure where they would have to go down my throat they agreed to this and when they tried to perform this it was aborted when I asked why? The reply was there was a blockage in my throat which they took a biopsy and guess what after another 2 weeks they informed me that I had cancer in my throat.

More to follow ???

I can only try empathise with you. How about letting your CNS know how how you feel.

Also if there are any patients meetings happening nearby you? Speaking to OPA or other charities such as Maggie's, CLAN, Macmilan? That will surely help you with your journey.

I had had my fair share of primary care issues and 2 5 years post surgery still ongoing.

Hi they normally talk about you at their team meeting normally 2 week time scale from scan. If you hadn’t heard speak with your CNS Or consultant secretary. Go for your next session as planned. Waiting game is horrible.

Best wishes

Debbie
