I have been suffering with foaming from the mouth 24 hrs a day, I am having chemotherapy for oesophagus cancer.I have a feeding tube fitted as I can't swallow anything including water.

I have tried Scopoderm which did not help, any suggestions.

Hi,I’ve had my first course of chemo, and 4 weeks tommorow..received an esophagectomy, and also suffering from this foaming every time I eat..I did suffer a little with chemo..but only if I ate too much..I can’t seem to find any quick fixes..but hopefully will pass after time..probably not much help.but reassurance you are not alone..if I can find anything else to help,I will post..best of luck

Hi I am post op 7 years and have at times suffered acid reflux still , what has helped me is sucking on lockets (honey &lemon) but I also am taking esomeprazole one table a day and has helped me considerably, hope this helps you.

My husband had IL operation on 2/6/2020 and taking 20 mg esomeprazole daily. Just wondering if there are any side effects with taking this long term or is it safe to stop taking it?

He tends to burb a bit after meals but doesn’t have reflux. He eats 3 very small main meals and has 2 Fortisip drinks (to help with calories intake).

Like you I also cannot eat nor drink, well I can swallow but it doesn’t clear the oesophagus and soon comes back up again. My tumor is at the bottom of the junction with the stomach and l rely entirely on an ng tube.

I have had one round of pre-op flot but have suffered with frothy foam for months, every morning I need to vomit to get rid of it, if I don’t do the same before bed I’ll spend the night coughing and choking until it comes up. Worse still it smells, anyone have a cure I’d love to know.

Everyone if different there isn’t a one solution for all unfortunately

Have you tried your pillows made up like an armchair sort of structure?

With two or three pillows behing depending on thickness and comfort and a thick pillow either side like chair arms ?

Also you can buy a wedge pillow from the OPA which gently proos you up

These things can help the gathering of fluid

Best wishes
