For about 2 years everytime I am about to have a bowel movement I feel this strange sinking feeling in my stomach/bowels then I begin to sweat, shake, I have shortness of breath and anxiety. After my bm I feel terrible for about 15-30 mins and then I'm ok again.
Gastro docs have no idea but my nutritionist suggested dumping syndrome. The thing is there is very little literature of this happening without surgery. Since people on this forum seem to know a lot about it, any suggestions? Do you think it does sound like dumping syndrome?
Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for that link, it was very interesting. I had read about vagus nerve but nothing that explained it quite so well and so similar to what I experience.
This is definitely not oesophagectomy dumping syndrome.
What you experience is psychological induced bm. When under anxious stress body triggers bm and associated symptoms as you mentioned, give and take with individual underlyings.
If you had a diarrhoea DS, you would have been put on eternal feed permanently by now, with skinny tone etc.
Perhaps check on your anxiety and what triggers it. Maybe your nervous system is hyper sensitive so slight increase in anxiety triggers emergency bowel clearing.
Usual disclaimer applies. Good luck in your search
