I have GERD and have had it for many years. I am not in the slightest bit overweight and I am not a smoker. I cannot take acid blockers because of restless legs so as a last resort the doctor put me on metoclopramide which is used for gastric emptying. It really helped my GERD but I only used half a tablet for six days running When I was supposed to take three or four tablets per day as I had read about the side effects and wanted to take it slowly. After the first half tablet I had uncontrollable hand shaking within 15 minutes of taking the tablet and it lasted about an hour. They also gave me immense fatigue. Two weeks after stopping taking the tablets I developed internal tremors joint pain and fatigue and have had these for around 3 1/2 months. Not sure if it’s the tablets But it is one of the side-effects which apparently can happen with long term use or high dose !! (not me). so please be aware.

Yes my daughter was put on them for 14 days 4 times a day abd she only took a couple and felt really shaky and ger heart was racing everytime she took one. She has delayed stomach emptying and also has GERD.

Yes and although I have been unable to resolve this ,my resolution is that it helps to eat a fairly small amount at any time and eating ‘simple to digest ‘ food helps. Sitting up at night - now bolt upright - is good . Those are simple tips, and I am happy that’s all feasible .
