Domperidone and Belching

Anyone tried domperidone for reflux? Every time I have it I end up with bad belching from it. Helps my constipation sometimes but isn't it meant to reduce belching? Not sure if it helps or makes my gerd worse also, I sometimes have heartburn after taking it. I do have IBS also so don't know if that has anything to do with it.

hi, I was put on domperidone while also taking pantoprazole by my thorasic surgeon due to sudden acid reflux attacks after my esophagectomy. I found my heart was racing and felt like I was shaky and at times could feel my heart pounding. My family Doctor took me off the domperidone immediately as a side effect can cause irreversible damage to the heart to some patients, I guess I was one of them. So now I am taking double the pantoprazole and suffer from the acid reflux attacks quite frequently. Hope you are able to take it as it did help while I was on it.

Hi, I had ibs for some years before having ivor lewis op. It is worse since but I find buscapan helpful. I take ranitidine for reflux which seems to mostly work. Cant ssay oi ve noticed any link between reflux and ibs. You dont say if you have had surgery but if you have, things can take a good while to settle. Good luck

Not had surgery yet. Have to wait for a 96 hour bravo ph test to confirm my suitability for surgery. I do have a haital hernia. On a lot of medication that could make reflux worse potentially anyway. PPIS have pretty much stopped working for me, not sure if it's cause I have sibo or due to chronic stress or something else.

It seems this sort of thing is not easy. Hope you will get sorted soon. My cancer wss initially treared as reflux but it sounds like you have probably had an endoscopy. Think you have to hope, pray and trust the doctors. I found opa help line useful too as they put me in touch with a profession,al who advised under opa hat.

Hi there i had terrible belching (smelly) went through loads of tests. I Take Lansoprazole but what got rid of it is Sucralfate liquid prescribed by hospital only and take a vitamin with priobotics in it too.
