About the benefits of lemon

Alkalizing our bodies: This point seems counterintuitive since fresh lemon juice is very sour and acidic however lemons are considered a very alkaline food. Despite the acidity of the juice, once it interacts with water molecules and enters the body it actually forms alkaline molecules that contribute to a healthy and balanced pH level. One of the reasons is that lemon juice contains alkaline minerals such as magnesium and calcium. It is essential to maintain a balanced pH level in our bodies to prevent disease. It is true that our bodies tightly regulate our blood pH. However, our environment and the foods we eat often promote an acid pH outside of the bloodstream and cells. To counteract and prevent this harmful acid build up we need to eat and drink “alkaline forming” foods such as lemon water. It's advised to place lemon slices in boiling water, let it cool, drink it when it's just warm.

I think it's interesting? ☺

As with many citrus fruits, lemon is a source of vitamin C and other vitamins/minerals, and it does (according to The Food Bible, by Judith Wills) contain linolene, which helps ward off cancer. I have no idea whether this is true or not and always think that healthy scepticism will help not to raise expectations too high.

But do be careful about eating/drinking too much lemon as it might upset your digestion and might have an effect on the enamel of your teeth. I was always told that a little bit of what you fancy does you good, but this is probably an old wives' tale, and no more qualified than I am to pronounce about it. So if you fancy trying it and it does not upset you, it might do some good and probably won't do any harm, but do be careful about anything that might change the chemical balance and affect medication that you might be on.
