Hi all,have just been dxed with Barretts oesophagus plus GERD and grade 2 oesophagitis and feeling a bit confused and scared. Awaiting histology reports on the biopsies taken (22). Have been told to double the PPI to 30mg x2 a day. I have anaemia and am feeling quite poorly lately with absolute exhaustion and generalised pain in my limbs. Wondered if anyone else had this?

While waiting for the histology reports, it sounds like the anaemia may be causing some of your problems, so they may be trying to sort out what is causing the anaemia and the way forward. Waiting for results and a diagnosis is possible the most worrying part of all, so soon things might be a lot clearer and less worrying. best wishes sally

Thankyou for your reply. I wonder how long (generally) histology reports take? And do you routinely get a report or is it sent to your GP?

Depends on each individual case, but it does often take about 3 weeks. the report may be sent to your GP depending on who refers you. You will usually be contacted with the results and what treatment they think is the way forward. Hope this helps but looking for the solution to problems does usually take time. sally
