I suffer from false memory ocd and I was wondering if having false ‘flashbacks’ are a part of this condition. So for example I spend a lot of time thinking about bad/harmful things I could have done in the past (especially while drunk) and all of a sudden a very clear flashback came into my mind. I felt shivers all over my body but almost immediately this flashback fades away and it started to feel like it didn’t happen.

Can my mind create this intense and sudden flashbacks that aren’t true because of my FM OCD?

Or must this flashback be real? (Which I hope not, cause that will mean it proves my fear is true)
