Hi, do we know anyone on SSRI's for very long time (10 yrs plus) and suffered from loss of consciousness / seizures as a side effect of medication? I want to establish after unhelpful consulation with Doctor, that a couple of brief loss of consciouness is a result attributed to medication (Paxil 25). No history of seizures whatsoever in the past, but the feeling of it makes me anxious which could really propel the episode again. Any advise greatly received.

i have been on clomipramine for 20 + years and have never had anything happen , and to me it sounds like you need a second opinion , sounds serious to me and needs looking into .
I have been on Sertraline for 10 years and found it very good. I don't know Paxil so don't know what side effects it might have. But according to the leaflet Sertraline can have similar side effects. Loss of consciousness or seizure sounds serious, and if your doctor does not act on this then someone should. It isn't normally suggested that you stop medication immediately, as this can have withdrawal effects, but I suggest that you get in touch with your psychiatrist, therapist or other health professional immediately. If this isn't possible, and it's not something I'd normally suggest, go to A & E. If the GP refuses to take it seriously, then perhaps you should report it.
People can be fine others not. I had black box warning from them. You know it shocked me. Stuff happens. RX drugs are still drugs too in my opinion someone has to know what you're on close to you.
