Thanks for allowing me to join, after many years of investigation and finally being diagnosed with Lupus (only because I have the markers for all the auto immune diseases but Lupus was slightly higher) this week the consultant informed me that I also have OA, well that explains the extreme pain. They want me to take steroids and ibuprofen when it is bad which I am not particularly happy about. I noticed that Age UK are running an exercise course on stay healthy and strong, would this be good, surely any exercise would be good? Hope to learn more on this journey

I have OA in my feet and neck and exercise helps a lot with the pain.

As for those pain killers you mentioned, I take turmeric and black pepper capsules daily and it work wonders for pain relief. (don't use if you take blood thinners)

I hope things improve for you, don't be afraid to try things that you think might help you, try not to let the OA rule your life.

Good luck to you.

Keep going as long as you can .. and lose weight if that's appropriate ... walking and yoga/pilates are keeping mine at bay - no cure but can stop/delay it taking over ... swimming is good too x
