Can't sleep due to shooting pains down both legs. It's definitely some sort of sciatic pain but is this linked to my RA?

Hi, I have RA and over a year ago started to get sciatica and was told by my rheumy this was caused by my RA, My sciatica now fares up when my RA does and as I get a lot of inflamation at the base of my spine this would make sense. I have been prescribed gabopentin on repeat by my GP which really helps with nerve pain if taken regularily. Hope this helps. Donna
Hi could possibiy be restless leg syndrome, google for info or go to gp,hope that helps a bit.

I have this problem in my right leg. Only started recently. I am OK walking and sitting or lying, it is just standing where I feel this fizz down my leg. I guess it is either inflammation or just wearing of the disk in my lower spine. I do find Ibuprofen helps but only take ihat if I reallyneed it. I am wondering about booking an appt with a phyisio or osteopath especially if I can get a massage as well.
Hi Bugs2
It's always a good idea to discuss new or unusual symptoms with either your GP or rheumatology team, especially if you are concerned. I hope they are able to get to the bottom of your sciatic pain.
Kind regards
