I'm about to start Orencia after Enbrel, Humera and Simponi didn't seem to help much. I'd love to hear about your experiences with Orencia.

I have been on it for over a year now. I love it. I did not do well with the other biologics either. I would be on them for 6 months, and then, they would stop working. Orencia, plus Arava are my drugs of choice at the moment.

It only takes a half an hour too. I have noticed that it takes me a much longer time to heal on Orencia than some of the others. A paper cut can take weeks.

Try it. What is to loose at this point?

Wow. I am on Simponi now, but having doubts about what it's doing, since both wrists and hands have gotten much worse in the last 3 months. I also took Humira and Enbrel with little or no difference. I have hesitated about the IV's because I have really difficult veins to start IV's. ICU nurses have had to be called to start IV for diagnostic tests. ER once took 8 sticks!

I was much better on Arava and Methotrexate with Humira, but now cannot get Arava due to a manufacturing back log. I question such a thing. Been going on since last Feb.

Think I'm going to have to inquire about Orencia or Remicade.etc. I usually am pretty uncomfortable during the Winter. Cold and damp weather just permeates the bones! So I stay in and go stir crazy since I also can't drive.

Good luck with Orencia for a long time.

In reponse to Loret about the 'manufacturing back log of arava (leflunomide)' we have contacted the pharmaceutical company Sanofi/Aventis to ask about the current situation with deliveries of this drug.

We were reassured that there have not been any supply problems for the past 6 months. However, they recommended that you should see your dispensing pharmacist asking them to contact head office 01483 505515 giving the contact name and telephone number of their wholesaler and head office will then be able to follow up and try to sort out this problem.

We hope this is clear and that you will not be without your treatment for too much longer.

Thank you Nicky. In reviewing some older blogs, I found your answer to mine about Arava being unavailable. As of early November, my Pharmacist told me it was not available. However, my Rheumatologist said that was so much bs, uh nonsense, since he has patients taking it. I will surely follow your suggestion. Thank you so much for looking into that for me. All the best in the New Year, Loret
