Hi people, new on here, had RA for three years and not been too bad, just go through bouts of tiredness every now and again. My ankles are aching and have been for about 5 days now, finding it hard to get off the lounge today....sooooo sleepy and lazy :(

Hi

Being constant moderate to severe pain makes you tired, also taking meds. I started mtx on saturday and I found I was more tired than usual.

Feel much better today as I spent all of yestereday fighting our cause from my bedroom.

Have a good day

Hi Zusan. Welcome to the site. You will get lots of support on here from the others. RA is so unpredictable - at present I am in a quiet phase and have been for sometime - long may that continue but I know it won't! Lol.

Try to rest as the others have said. It is so important not to overdo things and cause more damage to your joints. Pace yourself as well so a strenuous day does not mean you suffer for the next 48 hours. Take every opportunity to put your feet up even if only for 5 minutes. "me time" is the best advice you can have.

Try soaking your feet and ankles in either warm or cold water to see if that helps. Speak to your GP about pain meds which will help.

Tiredness is one of the biggies with RA but there are things you can do to lessen it mainly not overdoing it. When we are trying to conquer the world as women tend to do (and some men too, not to leave out our male friends on the site), we sometimes have to conquer ourselves first. Sorry if that's a bit profound!

Hope you will feel better soon. LavendarLady x
