Just wondering has anyone had their hair come out tak... - NRAS
Just wondering has anyone had their hair come out taking Arava?I have ,and I stopped it now I am in so much pain its unbelievable:(
Hi - I have had this (well thought it was Arava). I started it at the end of March this year - it's been fantastic for the RA, but I did notice loads of hair all over the carpet after drying it each day. I do fortunately have lots of hair, so I don't think it's noticeable to many, but if I pull my hair back I can see how much thinner it is.
I am taking last tablet today as I'm being taken off it for other reasons, so will see if I notice a difference to determine if it was Arava causing my hair to come out...hopefully don't start the pain though! How long have you been off it and what else are you on?
xx
My hair comes out with the disease...I have wigs now.. Hope ur having a good day! God bless
Hair loss is a side effect of taking some Disease Modifying Drugs. I take Arava and hair loss was quite marked at first but then settled down.
I have been off of it now for about a month and I have noticed the hair loss has stopped.I have thin hair anyway so I cannot afford that! I have been in total pain, but I have not been in remission in nearly 10 years so i have pain anyway..I cannot tell any difference in the pain level since coming off of it....I have been on all kinds, you name it I have took it..I take Mobic for the swelling, and it dont work well enough so I take Advil during the day also....I was taking Methatrexate injections for awhile and it effected my lungs,They want to put me on Biologics but I have done so much research on that ,that I have decided against it.....I dont know, I am at my ropes end....I had a Bone Scan done several years ago and it showed that the arthritis was in every single joint I have including my jaws so I am pretty much done(I feel)I am 52 yrs old, I have had RA since 1994..Hope your doing well today and thanks for the input. I am here for you guys if you ever need to vent, I know it helps to have someone that knows your pain.......
