Years ago I was involved with a womens group that was trying to do a "hot and cold" file of doctors, so women would be able to look up comments and decide who the best doctors were and who they would like to see. What I learned from that was that no doctor is ever totally bad for everyone or totally good for everyone, and some of the doctors that got the very worst comments from some folk, also got extremely good comments from others.
So, what I am trying to say is that it is incredibly individual, and you can't really judge by what someone else thinks of a doctor. The only thing that you could use to help you decide what doctor to see would be whether they have any kind of special interest in the things that are wrong with you. Even in rheumatology, there are different areas of interest, so if you discovered that one of the consultants at your hospital had an interest in fibro and chronic pain as well as inflammatory arthritis, that could be useful. Otherwise, really you just have to try someone, and if you don't get on with them, ask to see someone else.
