ESA work group? I have been to see the doctor and now had a letter to say my money may change, not sure if up or down.

I don't have to give a sick note but have to go on this work group thing. Can anyone give me a heads up to what I have to expect. As you know I am 61 and thought I was going to retire. I don't mind the idea of going back to work but not into a job with stress, I have had enough of that over the years. I am just getting used to the idea of winding down. I know I have been feeling not wanted but don't want the pressure to have to look for work to keep my money. I'll look if the right job comes along.

Hi Beeper

Looks like you've been placed in the WRAG (work related activity group) your money will go up to £99.15, benefit is backdated to the 13th wk of claim and any money owing will be paid. If benefit is contributions based it's payable for 1 yr from the date of claim then if you have a partner they'll be expected to keep you or, if single you can claim income related ESA.

At the work focused interviews you basically discuss the support you'd need to get back into employment and the type of work you think you'd be able to manage.

Hope this makes sense, helps clarify things and doesn't confuse you even more.
