I hope this makes sense, today my CRP came back it's lowest ever at 5! however my white cell count has risen to 7.9, I thought this was meant to go lower as the meds took effect......
white cell count, if it goes higher does that signify... - NRAS
white cell count, if it goes higher does that signify a boost in immunity? or if your meds are working is it meant to down?
My white cell count is often high, more than 7.9, apparently it usually means you're fighting off an infection although I've never noticed having one. I've decided with my GP not to worry about it!
Take note of the above advice.. people values vary if I TOLD you my lowest wbc was 8.5!and is currently 11.0 and it was your reading you would prob be worried.. but Im taking steroids this raises the wbc!..
my lowest without steroids is 8.5 it show my immune system is great and therefore my RA is bad. AND. my blood viscosity bumps along near to MAX value too..
My health trust uses viscosity not crp!"!cheaper. quicker and less definitive.. the secret is too look at your monitoring book and If you havent got one ask!.. and work out what is "normal !!"for you
It's not that I'm worried, quite the opposite, as you say as it is higher the immune system is great but RA bad, thats what puzzles me, I actually feel better with my RA at the moment (and CRP at lowest yet)......
we must be posh up here, we have both PV and CRP!!!
posh and rich you lucky thing in scotland! well if you are feeling well thats great news so celebrate and enjoy cc
My white cell count is often high (according to the values in my book). I'm often asked by my Rheum/GP if I've had a cold or other bug - I guess because they play a part in the body fighting to make you better....?
thanks, I'm still trying to convince myself that I don't really have RA and that is was a virus the whole time!!!
cheers i'll just make the most of feeling good
