This has been suggested to me for RA. I've used other injections but overtime I got severe gut problems or aggregated what I already have Diviculosis and Pancreatitis and taken off them. Latest was Benipali that after a couple of years caused severe gut pain. So Tocil has been suggested but although a chance it could aggravate my gut problems. I'm limited as I have latent TB . I was first diagnosed with RA 19 years ago. I've taken Sulphasazine since then. I don't want to find out the hard way if it's OK. Any one experienced gut ache with gut problems?

Tocilizumab and gut pain.

hi. I have taken toc twice each time for about a year. I didn’t get gut problems I already take mebeverine and esomeprozole but didn’t experience any issues. I stopped because I had numerous infections uti and chest. I’m on Benepali now which is great for energy but I have started to get tummy cramps Interesting you had your stop because of gut issues. Also I’m putting on heaps of weight. Hope toc works for you
Not me 😊
I take Toci and have mild gut issues, but have had them on and off for years before Toci.
Gut is getting worse but I can’t put it down to anything more than years of various meds and aging!
It is always a “suck it and see” situation and often a trade-off between RA symptoms and side effects. I guess it’s about finding an acceptable balance.
Hope you find your balance
Hi Jackie. Sorry you’re suffering guts issues. I’ve never had that in the two years I’ve been on Tocilizumab. However I’ve been taking a PPI too during that time.
