Hi This medication is a NSAID which treats inflammation and pain, so it's no surprise your feeling better, the effects could also be psychological, as in your doctor told you it would help therefore you feel better.
I can't see any long term problems other than the same as with most NSAID's, though I believe the side effects with this drug may not be as severe as some of the other anti-inflammitories.
I've added a link with more information for you.
Good luck hope you continue to feel good.

Celebrex is an NSAID, very effective, tolerated by most. As with all NSAIDs and DMARDS, be aware of cautions or side-effects, but try not to read too much into them to the point you beging to look for problems or imagine some. That is common. But, good luck, that is a good drug for first treatment.
I take eterocoxib from the same drug family group as celecoxib they are both cox2 inhibitors which means they are a selective form of nsaid( less agressive on gut than a lot of others) but carry an increased risk of cardiovascular events.
Thank you for all your advice, iam still feeling wonderful can walk better, my knees arnt as sore, and painfull, i wonder why doc hasnt prescribed me these tabs earlier. Bit scary though the cardiovascular side effects, see what happens when i speak to my rhumy nurse in 2 weeks.
