It sounds like you managed to inject into a blood vessel, It happens from time to time. I wouldn't be too worried it happens to us all at times.

As BooToo said. 💗 After a great many years of injecting meds, both with syringe and click pen, occasionally I hit a blood vessel and my leg bleeds a little more then the usual tiny red spec/dot. I just press with a fresh, clean tissue and then apply an Elastoplast firmly.

I inject my tummy and have some veins close to the surface and if I hit one of those they can bleed and bruise quite a lot.

it’s just caused by hitting a blood capillary when administering. It’s completely harmless. No need to worry.

Sounds like you caught a blood vessel, I've been lucky haven't done that yet, I do check the site of the jab carefully to make sure I dont.

it happens! Not often for me, although one time I had a run of 3 injections that hit blood vessels and my stomach looked like I had been clattered!

Yup. I've had it happen a few times in my leg but, since swapping to my tummy 'cos there's more podge there, it doesn't happen very often. I've also hit a nerve on occasion and that twangs!

It can happen if you chance to hit a blood vessel. Nothing to worry about but I got fed up with having bruised legs especially when on holiday in a swimsuit and so switched to injecting my tummy instead …. Which is less painful and doesn’t seem to bleed or bruise as much.

inject into your tummy, easier and not painful x

I can only add my reassurances to the others you have received. Bleeding is not so unusual and can depend on how the needle slides in - I haven't had as many small bleeds with the metoject mehod - easier and more straightforward. The odd small bruise sometimes.

Don't worry!

Thanks for all your replies although I did used to inject tummy or top of leg and I’ve not done tummy since it happened there and nurse said don’t do it there again - Ah well maybe try it there again, bye for now.
