You have good reason to be proud! What a great Son you have.

If it's specifically the NRAS he's fundraising for & if he's not set the ball rolling already maybe this link will be of help nras.org.uk/resource/fundra... I'm not sure but they may also provide branded t shirt or something, anything to raise the profile.

Will you give a big thank you to him please?

Marathons aren't easy. Lot's of training needed and hard work. Very touching post.

That's great. You should be proud of him. I think competitors have to raise a certain amount of money before they can enter. Is that right?

Dear 12Gemini123,

So pleased to hear your son has a place in the London Marathon this year – they are very hard to come by ! Such an iconic race and lots of amazing memories to be had.

Can I ask if your son has requested to support NRAS as we usually get notifications if someone has set up a fundraising page and I don't recognise the name. Sadly it's one of the Marathons that we struggle to get any places for (so completely understand if he has chosen another arthritis charity) as they are all bought up by the big charities and therefore we have to rely on people to apply for their own. Luckily we do get places in other fun events like the Royal Parks Half and Brighton Marathon (the latter is already full up!) and nomoreheels is correct in that we always offer tshirts/running vests/cycling jerseys etc to anyone taking part in an event for us 😍

Look forward to hearing updates on how he is getting on with the training.

Best wishes

Emma-S
